How to Find Your Resistance?
Happiness is easy to understand:
Either you are going with the flow, allowing,
accepting what is, and enjoying the moment,
or you are not.
Either you are allowing or you are resisting.
And it is easy to find out: Do you feel good right
now? Are you in the present moment? Are you feeling
relaxed and at peace?
If you are, you are allowing, going with the flow,
accepting the flow of Source energy within you.
If you are not, you are resisting the flow.
As we talked about the last two weeks,
in this case, the faster you find out what
you are resisting, the faster you will feel good
again.
And the faster you will receive what you
have been asking for.
I received an e-mail from Ken last week asking me:
How do you find what you are resisting?
Can you give me a tip?
Good question.
Contrary to what many of you may think,
it is not in thinking about it that you have
the most chance to find it.
It is actually by stopping the thinking and
beginning to feel your body that
you will get to it.
For example, take something you are resisting.
Now, close your eyes and focus on
that issue.
I will use the example of someone who is
resisting letting go of a relationship.
Instead of thinking about it, now stop and feel
what it feels like in your body.
Where is the discomfort? How does it feel like?
Tension here, pressure there?...
Once your attention is on it: ask yourself the
following questions:
1- What is it that I am resisting?
Then keep asking:
2- What am I resisting about that?
or what is the worst about this?
Taking our example:
Resisting ending a relationship.
What is it that I am resisting?
Feeling lonely
What am I resisting about that?
That I will never find someone else again.
What is the worst thing about this?
That I will be alone for the rest of my life.
Several layers later...
What am I resisting about that?
That I am worthless, and this is why nobody
will ever love me or want me!
You will recognize when you reach the core.
You may shed tears or feel emotional.
It is usually painful.
So, now begin to focus on the physical sensation that is
created by the emotion.
You will feel that it is not unbearable anymore. You can
stay in this feeling when you focus on its physical sensations
only.
It is that sensation that you have never wanted to experience.
So, just stay in it, and feel it. Observe it, like Source
would do. No judgment.
So, here you have found what you have been resisting.
Next week, I'll explain what you need to do next to
stop resisting and start allowing.
In between, keep observing how you feel: Do you feel good?
Are you in the flow or are you resisting the flow?
This is THE question!
Managing how you feel is the most important skill
you need in order to become the deliberate creator of your life.
