How do You Stop Resisting?
Last week I didn't write a newsletter...
I was having too much fun.
As I live in Houston, hurricane Ike had
just visited us, and the results were
astounding, to say the least.
Many miracles happened around me
and in my life:
My son wrote a song and read a book!
This is a miracle :)
My neighbors were so nice, we had
barbecue every night.
One day I counted more than 9 miracles:
An unknown person stopped by and
delivered ice to our house...just like that.
I found all I needed as I was asking for it
My husband's boss delivered a
generator that evening...
On the weekend we were invited to visit some friends
So many small but wonderful miracles happened
that I am grateful about.
I still don't have electricity, but I have all my power :),
and my house is doing great.
So, the kids are going back to school tomorrow,
the forced vacation is over...
Let's keep going.
In the last newsletter, I was explaining
how to stop resisting.
I am going to take the example I used last time
--resisting letting go of a relationship.
To summarize last newsletter:
1st focus on your body sensations
2nd ask yourself what you are really resisting.
...we found a core belief that produced the resistance:
"I am worthless, and this is why nobody
will ever love me or want me!"
When you find a core belief that you are resisting, you are
in fact in the presence of a chemical reaction:
a thought + judgment+ body sensation/emotion = painful resisted experience.
What we want is to dissolve the chemical links that create the
painful and resisted experience.
Follow me, this is my latest discovery:
When you are able to separate the thought from the
pure physical sensation produced by the thought,
and observe them both without judgment,
then the resistance is over.
What you did in the first step was to find the painful, resisted experience.
Then you allowed yourself to focus only on the physical sensation,
observing it without judgment, like Source would do.
"Hmmm...Interesting... Thinking about this thought is creating
this physical sensation in me."
Release the judgment and even the name of the sensation
(sadness, hurt, etc.) keep it simple, it is just a physical sensation
after all. Accepting it, observing it, breathe into it.
No judgment, just accepting to feel it in your body.
You then had just separated the first link of the
"chemical reaction" between the body
sensation and the judgment.
Now, you need to do the same for the thought that is
part of the formula.
Now, observe that thought exactly like Source would do:
"Hmmm, it is an interesting thought. If I let go of all the
preconceived ideas about it, it is an interesting thought."
Just a thought, after all.
Could I allow myself to experience this thought
just for a moment? "I am worthless".
So, here you go, you gather your courage and plunge into
the experience, passing through the barriers of judgment, focusing
on the pure experience of it--a bit like a scientist, observing
what it would mean in terms of experience.
So, here I accept to feel and experience the belief/thought:
"I am worthless" like Source would experience it,
without any judgment.
"Hmmm, this is an interesting thought."
From the eyes of Source it is rather
humorous. What does it mean, really?
I know I am Source energy in a physical body.
There is no such thing as worthlessness.
I am God after all :)
It means also that people around me are having thoughts like:
"this person is worthless", well, they are having millions of
thoughts and there is no way I can manipulate or control
their thoughts, could I allow them to think what they want?
I guess I could.
So, yes, I can relax and experience the concept of having
no value and some people around me having this thought
among the millions of other thoughts they have.
It is not painful, after all. It is just a simple experience.
You have just dissolved the "chemical links" that were
creating this painful, resisted experience.
Bravo!
You are free to go down the river again and feel the
freedom and joy that being in the flow feels like.
Warmly,
Colette
