I was kidding myself!
I had this wild dream
about helping my husband retire early. It all
began with writing my e-book :M-Power
(you can now find it in my bookstore at
http://www.creationmastery.com/bookstore.html ) last fall and realizing
that I had created everything I wanted in my life, but I never
thought about or focused on financial freedom.
And having no other creations to make, I began to focus on this new
challenge as a big, fun thing to do.
The good thing is that I had no attachment to it, and even though I
didn't believe I could do it at first, I have now arrived at a place
where I have attracted a very concrete way to achieve this goal. So
now I totally believe it is possible.
As you know about the creation process, I was going up the ladder.
I felt excited, and I was growing closer and closer to full
alignment. (I thought.)
But I was only kidding myself.
I suddenly realized last week that I only spent 5% of my time
focusing on my big plan and goal, and the other 95% I spent going on
with my regular schedule and my life as usual.
Then it dawned on me that if I went on like that I would never reach
my goal.
I saw that I was not taking the time to actually change my
circumstances. I was operating under the belief that I could go on
with my regular schedule, squeezing into it the big dream when I had
time, eventually succeeding at it.
I also had other thoughts that kept me in "lala land".
They ran on like this:
"I will do it when I have time..." "Even if I don't spend much time
on it, I am making progress..." "I am not in a hurry to make it
happen..." "I couldn't carve time into my schedule... it is
impossible." "I am just doing the best I can..." "It will be enough
to get me where I want to be in 5 years..."
and
"I have plenty of time in front of me."
I also discovered hidden fears... like fear of change. I would have
to take actions I was afraid to take. I would have to challenge
myself... I would have to change!
So what helped me climb up one more rung on the ladder to fully reach
a determined state of mind?
It was a realization. I looked my reality in the eyes. Suddenly, a
cloud of illusion left the sky and I could see the truth before me:
if I didn't make this goal a priority, nothing would change.
As soon as I realized that, my determination began to grow rapidly.
And naturally, I saw myself taking actions that began to feel totally
logical and necessary.
I had reached a new level. When you are determined in your intent,
suddenly everything changes. It becomes very easy to take actions;
it is natural, flowing.
So I changed my schedule and began actively working on my project.
I can see my husband has not made this shift yet. He told me about
one of the actions he needed to take: "I'll do it when I have time."
This is the proof for me that he is still in lala land. But it is
alright; he is climbing the ladder at his own pace.
Speed doesn't matter, as long as one continues to climb.
Fortunately, I am not dependent on him for my project to succeed.
I am determined and I will not stop until I get there.
I am willing to do things that I was not willing to do before...
things that never crossed my mind. When you are determined, you will
reach the top of the ladder. Nothing will stop you.
Beware!
It is pretty evident... when you know the law of attraction... that
the more attention you give to something, the more it grows and
attracts more of itself.
So if you dream of something but keep placing your attention
somewhere else, you can easily understand that you are not really
attracting what you want into your life.
You need to give more attention to what you want in order for it to
happen.
"Check in" with your life; what are your dreams? Do you give them
enough priority and attention, or are they on the back
burner...waiting for you to have time for them?
If you have a dream, ask yourself these questions:
"Have I scheduled enough time to bring this dream into reality?" "Do
I truly give it enough mental energy?" "Am I prepared to do whatever
it takes to make it happen?"
If you answer any of these questions negatively, its OK. Understand
that alignment is a process. There is a natural flow of things. You
may need time to get there. But don't stay stuck in lala land.
Know that you are still dreaming, and be encouraged. It does feel
good and you are on your way up the ladder, but nothing will really
change until you begin to make decisions according to the new way
you are intending to spend your time, money, and energy.
Make sure you begin focusing your time, money, and attention toward
what you truly desire!
When you reach the rung of determination, nothing will stop you and
the Universe will be on your side!
I am not kidding :)
Warmly,
