Spiraling Up or Down....

I was watching Michael Phelps being interviewed
by a reporter after his 7th medal last week.

He was asked what he thought made the
difference.

And instead of talking about action, like most
people in this society would tend to approach success,
he didn't. He didn't say "I trained harder than others."

In the Olympics, it is evident that action--training-- has
really very little to do with getting a medal.

Everyone works as hard as the other.

It is a perfect moment for society to realize
how thoughts are more powerful than action.

Michael simply replied "I have a good imagination" "I try
to stay positive". At other interviews we learned that
he had posted an article in his locker door that quoted
his competitor saying that there was little chance that he
would get 7 medals and even much less he would get 8.

This article did wonders for him. It created a contrast.
And Michael has the power to take a negative thought and
turn it into a positive one.

This is the secret.

It motivated him. Why? It was even more fun, easier, and
more powerful to imagine winning 8 medals
and see the faces of Thorpe and all the people who had
doubted him.

Michael was set for his 8 medals and nothing even
100 of a second would stop him from getting them.

Every victory was moving him forward into
this historic achievement.

He was in a positive spiral that nothing could stop.

Now, what about the other side of the spiral?

I was reading the last book of Abraham-Hicks this
week and one question stuck with me:

Jerry asked Abraham about people who are going
into a dowward spiral, why do they often reach bottom before
they can come back on their feet?

Abraham answered that they keep focusing on the problem
till they reach bottom and then they are free to focus on
what they want.

This question resonated with me. I feel inspired to
refine the process I have into a clear step by step
approach that would stop people
who are spiralling downward and allow them to turn their
vibration around 180 degrees.

Like the momentum of a train, the thougth processes
of a person has the same power to it.

The more you think something, the more it is easier
to think it, and the harder it is to think differently.

Well, next week, I'll begin exploring with you what it
takes to break such a momentum.

Warmly,
Colette
